Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a very important Bairabi-Sairang new railway line project during his visit to Mizoram tomorrow. Talking to reporters at Sairang Railway Station during his visit to Mizoram, Mr Vaishnaw said that the project work was very difficult as it features 45 tunnels and 55 major bridges.
He said, the project will bring significant changes in the life of the people of Mizoram. Mr Vaishnaw also informed that three express trains will also be flagged off and of them one will be Sairang-Delhi Rajdhani Express, the other train is Mizoram Express which will run daily to Guwahati and the third will be tri weekly train up to Kolkata.
The Union Minister also informed that a goods train will also be operated from Sunday. He also said, before 2014′, the allocation for Railway projects in northeast was only two thousand crore rupees which has been increased by five times by the Narendra Modi government.
