Five day long autumn session of Assam assembly begins today at Dispur

The five-day-long autumn session of the Assam assembly has begun today at Dispur. Replying to a question, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the Bodoland Territorial Region, BTR accord is being implemented satisfactory. The treaty was signed to bring permanent peace in the BTR area of the state. He said that government is implementing the various clauses of the Accord and all its provisions to be completed soon. The Chief Minister further mentioned that the government is holding meetings with all the concerned stakeholders of the Accord at regular intervals. Mr. Sarma further mentioned that the Karbi Accord which was signed involving six militant groups is also progressing properly. Our Correspondent reports that the autumn session of the assembly has begun in the state-of-the-art new building constructed at the Dispur area. Prior to the commencement of the session, Chief Minister unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the assembly premise.
