Fit India Pink Cyclothon organised in Kolkata on International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organised a ‘Fit India Pink Cyclothon’ in Kolkata today.
 
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya flagged off the rally, emphasising that such initiatives foster a culture of fitness and collective responsibility among citizens. He urged the public to embrace cycling as a simple yet effective way to maintain a healthy lifestyle and promote a cleaner environment.
 
Highlighting the vital role of women in sports and public life, the Minister called for increased support and opportunities for women in the sporting arena. The event saw the participation of several prominent figures, including Arjuna Awardee Olympian Bombayla Devi Laishram, Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts Avinash Kumar Gupta, and Everest climber Piyali Basak.
