First World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 to conclude in Mumbai today

The first World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 will conclude in Mumbai today. Master Classes on Film making and Cultural events will be the main attraction on the last day of Summit.

The four-day event, which began on Thursday, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The summit with the tagline ‘Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries’ is poised to position India as a global hub for media, entertainment, and digital innovation.

The summit is witnessing participation from over 90 countries, with more than ten thousand delegates.

Meanwhile, the inaugural edition of WAVES Bazaar concluded at WAVES 2025 with great success, cementing its status as a premier platform for global business collaboration in the creative industries.

The Bazaar recorded over 800 crore rupees in business transactions across the Film, Music, Radio, VFX, and Animation sectors, with projections indicating the total valuation will exceed 1,000 crore rupees in the coming days as deal-making continues.

A standout feature was the Buyer-Seller Market, which hosted more than 3,000 B2B meetings, generating over 500 crore rupees in revenue, with additional deals expected to close soon.

Curated film screenings at the 80-seat venue received enthusiastic responses, further highlighting the event’s appeal.

The Bazaar also offered emerging creators a platform to pitch their intellectual properties to a global network of buyers and collaborators, sparking significant interest and new partnerships.

In a major international development, the Film India Screen Collective and Screen Canterbury NZ, led by Petrina D’Rozario, unveiled a proposal to launch the first-ever Indian Film Festival in New Zealand.

This initiative aims to strengthen cultural ties, boost tourism, and foster co-productions between the two nations.

Additionally, India-Russia collaborations took a step forward as Only Much Louder (OML), CEO Tushar Kumar and Gazprom Media CEO Alexander Zharov initiated talks on a potential Memorandum of Understanding.

The agreement would focus on cross-cultural festivals and co-producing comedy and music shows in both countries.
