District Magistrate and Collector of West Tripura Dr. Vishal Kumar, informed that the first phase of the 2026-27 Census will be conducted from August 1 to August 30 this year. Addressing a press conference held today at the State Guest House in Agartala, Dr. Kumar said that the second phase of the census exercise is expected to be completed by March next year.

He stated that the first phase will involve house-listing and housing census activities, while the second phase will focus on population enumeration on an individual basis.

The District Magistrate further informed that around 2,500 personnel will be engaged in the first phase of the exercise. He added that house owners willing to opt for self-enumeration can submit their information through a dedicated mobile application between July 17 and July 31.
