The first Culture Working Group meeting under India’s BRICS Presidency 2026 concluded today in New Delhi. The meeting, chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Vivek Aggarwal, witnessed participation of the BRICS countries virtually. The Indian delegation was represented by Member Secretary of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Dr Sachchidanand Joshi, and other officials.
In a social media post, the Ministry of Culture said that India’s presidency of BRICS emphasises cultural, people-to-people exchanges and strategic cooperation. It added that the government is promoting shared heritage and cultural collaboration among member nations. The theme of India’s BRICS Presidency is Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.
