The final day of nomination filing for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections witnessed intense political activity, with major parties submitting candidates for all 28 seats. Top leaders, including Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, attended nomination programmes in Dhalai, while ministers and MPs led filings in Mohanpur, Jirania, Mandai and other constituencies. Multiple candidates filed nominations today across key seats in Khowai and Teliamura sub-divisions, while South Tripura saw multi-cornered contests in the Birchandra-Kalasi, Purba Muhuripur-Buratali and Shilachhari-Manu Bankul seats.
In the Gomati district, 40 nominations were filed across five seats, while Sepahijala recorded 22 nominations in three constituencies. Several candidates also filed nominations in North Tripura and all five seats under the Unakoti district today. Officials said 19 nominations were filed for two seats in Khowai and 5 in Teliamura. All major parties, including the Left Front, Tipra Motha, IPFT and Congress, are in the fray. Scrutiny will be held on March 26, with March 28 as the last date for withdrawal of nomination.
Polling is scheduled on April 12 from 7 AM to 4 PM, and counting will take place on April 17. Over 9.62 lakh voters will decide the fate of candidates.
