The Indian defence, led by Captain Harmanpreet Singh delivered a strong response after they had succumbed to a 4-1 loss to Germany on Tuesday. India’s Gurjant Singh scored the only goal of the match while Amit Rohidas was declared the player of the match.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s FIH Pro League, Spain emerged victorious over India 1-0 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Captain Marta Segu in the 49th minute scored the only goal for Spain. With this, Spain is on a four-game winning streak in the tournament.
