In the FIH Hockey Pro League 2024-25, India’s women’s team suffered a 5-1 defeat to hosts Belgium in Antwerp today, marking their fifth consecutive loss.
India took an early lead through Deepika in the 6th minute, but Belgium’s Helene Brasseur scored two goals, while Lucie Breyne, Ambre Ballenghien, and Charlotte Englebert each netted one for the hosts. All five of Belgium’s goals came from penalty corners.
India are 7th in the standings with 10 points from 13 matches, while Belgium are 3rd with 28 points in the FIH Pro League.
India will now face Belgium again tomorrow.
