The fifth edition of the Loka Kerala Sabha concluded today in Thiruvananthapuram. Addressing the valedictory session, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan emphasized the need for a strong and effective migration law to safeguard the welfare of expatriates. Representatives from various regions, including West Asia, Africa, America, and other Indian states, actively participated in the discussions.
The delegates put forward a range of proposals focused on Kerala’s development and the welfare of expatriates. In view of the increasing migration to European countries, a key demand was the prevention of fraudulent recruitment practices.
The delegates also emphasized the need to promote Kerala’s health tourism in Gulf countries through coordinated efforts with Indian embassies. More than 500 expatriate delegates from 125 countries and 23 Indian states participated in the three-day conference.
