A meeting of the United Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha with the central team led by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi was held in Chandigarh today. Twenty-eight farmers, including farmer leaders Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Sarwan Singh Pandher, participated in the meeting.

Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, and Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak also attended the meeting. The next meeting of farmer leaders with a delegation from the Union Government will be held on February 22.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said Union Agriculture Minister Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan will attend the next meeting. He added that the farmer leaders had also agreed to participate in the next meeting. Mr. Joshi mentioned that today’s meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, with farmers participating. They were informed about the initiatives taken for the welfare of farmers, he added. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, confirming this development, said he and his fellow farmer leaders will attend the next meeting.
