An interactive event titled ‘Orbit of Inspiration: Celebrating 65 Years of Human Spaceflight with Denis Matveev’ was organised at the Prime Ministers Museum and Library, Nehru Planetarium, in New Delhi today.
The event was timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. During the event, Russian cosmonaut Denis Matveev shared his personal impressions and journey and interacted with Indian school children.
A short film about the lives and training of cosmonauts was screened as part of the event. The film demonstrated how cosmonauts learn to operate in zero-gravity conditions, master complex technical processes, and maintain physical fitness during long missions.
The event primarily aimed at inspiring young minds, fostering scientific curiosity, and broadening public understanding of humanity’s achievements and the exciting future of space exploration.
