The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, ESIC has extended the Scheme for Promotion of Registration of Employers and Employees, SPREE 2025 for a month to give more time to employers to join without past liabilities. Ministry of Labour and Employment said that the one-month extension reinforces ESIC’s push for inclusive and simplified compliance, thereby expanding the social security coverage in the country. With this extension, employers will have additional time to register their businesses and employees digitally through the ESIC, Shram Suvidha, and Ministry of Corporate Affairs portals, with registration effective from the date specified by the employer. The establishments that are not previously registered will benefit from the provision of no demand of past contribution, no inspections, and norequirement for prior records, if they register within the new timeframe. The SPREE scheme was approved during the 196th Meeting of ESI Corporation and was operational from the 1st of July this year.
