Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav calls for coordinated action on Delhi-NCR air pollution

Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav emphasised the need for a coordinated approach by all agencies to deal with air pollution in Delhi-NCR. Mr Yadav said this while chairing a high-level review meeting in New Delhi today. The Minister called on the industry to respond to the need for the fight against air pollution. Mr Yadav mentioned that the efforts should focus on behaviour change of all the industries, citizens, and agencies in a manner that the pollution-reducing activities are adopted by all in a gradual manner.

 

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the progress on critical interventions such as the installation and real-time monitoring of Online Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (OCEMS), deployment of Air Pollution Control Devices, and the execution of an Integrated Waste Management Plan for efficient waste collection and disposal, potential for stubble burning in the upcoming harvest season. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), Government of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and other concerned agencies participated in the meeting.
