Union Environment Minister, Bhupender Yadav today chaired a high-level review meetings on air pollution in Delhi-NCR today. During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the compliance actions taken by various Departments, Central Government Authorities and Delhi Government for the decisions made, in respect of Air Quality Management in Delhi-NCR. He directed relevant officials to provide the farmers with benefits of all schemes initiated by the Centre and State governments to prevent any parali burning incident. He also emphasised that adequate parali storage areas be ensured for its proper usage after the harvesting season.
Mr Yadav also chaired a meeting with members of Central Pollution Control Board, State Pollution Control Boards and Pollution Control Committees for effective implementation of environmental regulations in the national capital. The Minister reviewed the state-level progress on the adoption of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility regulations, and implementation of the various waste management rules. He also reviewed the enforcement of environmental regulations to control industrial pollution through online monitoring systems.
