Enumeration for Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls Begins in Puducherry

The house-to-house enumeration process in connection with the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls will commence in Puducherry today.
 
 
Addressing a press conference, the Chief Electoral Officer of Puducherry, P. Jawahar, said that printing of unique enumeration forms has been completed and training has been imparted to Booth Level Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers. A two-stage training was given to Booth Level Officers, one of which was held jointly with Booth Level Agents of political parties. 
 
 
The enumeration process will continue till the 4th of December. During this period, Booth Level Officers will visit every household to distribute pre-filled enumeration forms to existing electors, collect the filled-in forms, and verify details to identify absent, shifted, duplicate, or deceased voters. They will also collect details of newly eligible voters. Booth Level Agents of political parties can also collect up to 50 filled-in enumeration forms per day from voters and hand them over to BLOs.
 
 
The draft electoral rolls will be published on the 9th of December, and claims and objections can be filed up to the 8th of January. Hearings and verifications will be conducted till the 31st of January, and the final electoral rolls will be published on the 7th of February next year.
