Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, S. Krishnan, today emphasised the need to democratize access of latest technology to every individual. The Electronics and IT Secretary was addressing the AI India Conclave 2025, a pre-summit event of the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. Mr Krishnan called for the democratisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the world, going beyond students of technology courses or computer education courses.
Mr Krishnan also emphasised acceleration in the adoption of AI for productive purposes.
Highlighting that AI is changing the way the world works, he said that AI can be used to reduce gaps in manufacturing, agriculture and healthcare to deliver better services. He added that AI is one space where data and data points keep changing on almost a daily basis. The Secretary stressed that focus should shift from job loss to reskilling, upskilling, and talent development. Mr Krishnan also launched a report on India’s triple AI imperative- Succeeding with AI in India.
