Election Officials Conduct Inspections in West Bengal Ahead of Phase 2 Polling

Ahead of the second phase of voting, Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Special Observer Subrata Gupta, and Special Police Observer N.K. Mishra is carrying out urgent on-site inspections across Arambagh, Bongaon, Barrackpore, and Sandeshkhali. Election Commission sources say the move is aimed at ensuring a completely peaceful election in the upcoming phase.

The Chief Electoral Officer has already reached Arambagh, where he is scheduled to meet with the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and officers-in-charge of all local police stations. The meeting will review the current law-and-order situation and issue directives to strengthen booth-level security.

Special focus is being placed on deploying central forces and increasing surveillance, particularly in booths identified as prone to unrest.
