The Election Commission has notified that over two lakh thirty-seven thousand electors will avail themselves of home voting during elections in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry, which will go to the polls on the 9th of April. In a statement, the poll body said that over 167,000 electors aged more than 85 years and over 70,000 Persons with Disabilities (PwD) electors have been allowed home voting. The figure includes over 145,000 electors from Kerala, 19,000 electors from Assam and 2,000 electors from Puducherry aged above 85 years. Additionally, about 62,000 PwD electors from Kerala, six thousand PwD electors from Assam and one thousand six hundred PwD electors from Puducherry will avail themselves of home voting during elections. ECI announced that electors will be informed of the schedule of home voting in advance, and a team of polling officials will visit the elector’s residence to collect their vote.
