The full bench of the Election Commission of India held a meeting with the recognised national and state political parties in Kolkata in connection with the upcoming General Election to the Assembly of West Bengal today.
A poll-preparedness meeting was followed by the heads and nodal officers of the enforcement agencies. Later, a review meeting was held with state IGs and DIGs range, District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police. As the latest news came in, the meeting was ongoing.
ECI will hold a poll-preparedness meeting with the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), nodal officer of the state police and central reserve police force tomorrow. Later, the Commission will meet the Chief Secretary, DGP and other senior officers of the government of West Bengal, which will be followed by interaction with the Booth Level Officers and a press conference.
