In Jammu and Kashmir, Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, is being celebrated today with religious fervour and joy. The Shawal moon was sighted last evening, officially ending Ramadan. Masjids and Eidgahs across the Jammu region are welcoming thousands of worshippers for special Eid prayers.
Religious scholars encouraged devotees to extend help to the needy and spread the true spirit of Eid throughout the community. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended greetings to the people, urging them to embrace the spirit of sacrifice, sharing, and service to humanity. He wished peace, prosperity, and happiness for all.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to those celebrating worldwide. He highlighted the spiritual and social significance of Eid, emphasizing compassion, generosity, unity, and communal harmony nurtured during Ramadan. The Chief Minister prayed for lasting peace, development, and prosperity across the region, wishing joy and positivity for every household.
