Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said that through the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, India is working towards further strengthening a Skill-Based, Competency-Driven, and Holistic Education system, enabling the youth to prepare themselves in alignment with global needs.
Mr Pradhan said this while addressing the Bharat Education Conclave 2026 in New Delhi. He said that school education is also comprehensively focusing on children’s mental health, nutrition, skill development, and sports activities under NEP 2020. Mr Pradhan said that the Government is continuously working to advance the country’s education system from being degree-based to skill-based. He said that under the National Education Policy, education in the mother tongue at the foundational level, along with encouragement of critical thinking and innovation among children, is being prioritised.
