Enforcement Directorate – ED is conducting raids in Ranchi, Mumbai and Surat at 15 various locations of Chartered Accountant Naresh Kejriwal in a case under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). This is first ED raid in Jharkhand under FEMA. The ED has included Kejriwal’s residential premises and locations of his close aides, including his office at Church Complex in Ranchi, in the scope of the raid by the central probe agency. The ED had initiated an investigation in this case under FEMA on the basis of facts found during the raid conducted by the Income Tax Department against Kejriwal. The ED has found evidence in its preliminary investigation that Kejriwal has invested money abroad in violation of regulations. It is alleged that he invested in Dubai, the United States, and several other countries.
