In consequence to the Supreme Court’s directive, the Election Commission has taken the initiative to train judicial officers for hearings related to the SIR process in West Bengal. As part of this, training and preparatory meetings have been organized from today in Kolkata and various districts.
In Kolkata North, representatives from the office of the State’s Chief Electoral Officer held a preparatory meeting with the judicial officers in charge. The meeting, which lasted for about two hours at the Jessop Building, focused mainly on pending tasks related to logical discrepancies, the number of documents that need to be scrutinized, and how that process will be carried out.
Special roll observers from the Commission were also present at the meeting. Afterward, a training session was conducted at the Jessop Building.
