A team of Election Commission of India led by Senior Dy Election Commissioner Gyanesh Bharati will arrive in West Bengal tomorrow to review the Special Intensive Revision SIR and to join a workshop of First Level Checking FLC of the Electronic Voting Machine EVMs. Principal Secretaries S.B. Joshi and Malay Mallik, Dy Secretary, Avinav Agarwal will review the progress of SIR in Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Nadia, Murshidabad and Malda districts.
The ECI team will hold a meeting with the District Election Officer DEOs of Kolkata South and Kolkata North at the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kolkata. Later they will hold another meeting with the District Election Officer of the South 24 Parganas district at the collectorate meeting hall.
The team will move Krishnanagar for a night stay for SIR review on Wednesday (19/11/25) in Nadia and Murshidabad districts. On Thursday (20/11/25) the ECI team will review the SIR process in Malda district. The team will come back to Kolkata on Friday (21/11/25) and will join the First Level Checking of EVMs workshop at New Town in Kolkata. All the 24 District Election Officer DEOs will be present in that workshop.
The Chief Electoral Officer CEO West Bengal and other senior officials of the CEO office accompany the ECI team in this review tour.
