At Thiruvananthapuram, the Chief Electoral Officer, Kerala, Rathan U. Khelkar, has said that the target for the upcoming Kerala Legislative Assembly Election is to ensure a voter turnout of more than 85% in the state. He said the Election Commission of India aims to conduct one of the most exemplary elections in the world in Kerala. Mr. Khelkar was speaking at a meeting of District Collectors convened in Thiruvananthapuram to review the preparations for the Assembly elections. He directed that District Election Officers should closely monitor all aspects related to the conduct of the elections to ensure smooth and efficient polling across the state.
