The Election Commission today released the draft electoral roll for Gujarat under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. The draft roll has registered around 4 crore 34 lakh voters in the state. Notably, the revision process resulted in the removal of over 73 lakh 73 thousand names from the list, including deceased, relocated, and duplicate entries, to ensure the accuracy and purity of the database. Out of the total 5 crore 8 lakh voters, the records for 4 crore 34 lakh voters have been completely digitised. Following today’s publication, citizens can now submit their claims and objections until 18th January, 2026. According to the official schedule, election officers will dispose of all such claims and objections by 10th February, 2026, before the final publication.
