EC enforces MCC by deploying drone-based surveillance in Puducherry

Puducherry Election Department has intensified enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct by deploying drone-based surveillance across all 30 Assembly constituencies.

The initiative aims to strengthen real-time monitoring and curb electoral malpractices during the ongoing Assembly elections.

During a drone patrol in the Mannadipet constituency, three persons were apprehended for allegedly distributing money to influence voters, and rupees fifty-five thousand was seized.

In a separate incident in Mangalam constituency, two individuals were caught with cash amounting to eleven thousand three hundred and a two-wheeler. They were handed over to the police for further action.

Chief Electoral Officer P. Jawahar said strict vigil is being maintained and urged citizens to report violations through the cVIGIL app or helpline number 1950 to ensure free and fair elections.
