The Election Commission has informed the political parties that the Special Intensive Revision exercise in Bihar is being conducted in a planned, structured and phased manner to facilitate the inclusion of all eligible citizens. The Commission met representatives of various political parties, including Congress, RJD, CPI (M), Samajwadi Party, DMK and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi yesterday. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, heard the concerns, issues and queries raised by the party representatives. The commission informed them that the entire Special Intensive Revision is underway in Bihar and progressing smoothly. It said that active participation by more than one lakh 54 thousand Booth Level Agents appointed by the recognised political parties across Bihar is also ensuring that the process is happening transparently.
In the first phase, from 25th June to 3rd July, Enumeration Forms are being printed and distributed to the approximately seven crore 90 lakh electors in Bihar. In the second phase, the Enumeration Forms will be filled and are to be submitted before 25th July. The commission said that, to support this process, volunteers are available to assist the voters alongside the Booth Level Officers. The Draft Electoral Roll will be published on the 1st of August.
