The Election Commission today appointed Retired IAS officer of the 1988 batch, Manjeet Singh, as Special Observer for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Assam. The poll body said that Mr Singh will be required to visit Assam from time to time to observe the poll preparedness and the conduct of the General Election to the Legislative Assemblies of Assam and give his inputs for necessary action. It added that Mr Singh will visit Assam in coordination with the CEO of Assam.
