External Affairs Minister, Dr S Jaishanka, hosted a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) in New York. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly yesterday.
In a social media post, the Minister said that he is delighted to host the FIPIC Foreign Ministers Meeting and glad to note that the 12-point action plan announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the FIPIC-III Summit is progressing well. Dr Jaishankar said that India and Pacific Island countries are development partners. He added that their agenda is people-centric and focused on health, technology, capacity building and training.
