External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar has said, Luxembourg is a very important partner of India, with strong potential to expand cooperation in areas such as fintech, space and artificial intelligence. Dr Jaishankar made the remarks during his visit to Luxembourg as part of a six-day tour of France and Luxembourg. He held talks with Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel.
Dr Jaishankar said Luxembourg plays a valuable role not only as a bilateral partner but also within the European Union, especially at a crucial time in strengthening India-EU relations.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in finance, investments, technology, innovation, digital services and talent mobility. The External Affairs Minister also thanked Luxembourg for its support for stronger India-EU ties. He conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, and also called on Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg.
During his visit, Dr Jaishankar is also scheduled to interact with members of the Indian community in Luxembourg.
