External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today met his fellow Foreign Ministers from the European Union in Brussels. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar thanked Vice-President of European Commission Kaja Kallas for inviting him to the Foreign Affairs Council Meeting. The Minister said that a new chapter in India-EU ties has opened up in 2026. He said the Foreign Ministers coordinate translating the various agreements into outcomes. Dr Jaishankar said the conversation today therefore covered trade, investment, technology, mobility and defence in particular. The External Affairs Minister said the stronger convergence between India and the EU in a multipolar world is also expressed in closer consultations. Discussions were held on the West Asia conflict, the Ukraine situation and the Indo-Pacific in today’s gathering.
