In Jammu and Kashmir, the Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ), has issued a fresh order regarding the reopening and continued closure of schools, Government and Private recognised across five districts in the Jammu division, effective from today. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the directive has come in the wake of ongoing assessments of ground conditions in various areas, with a focus on ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff amid prevailing concerns. According to the official circular issued last evening, the schools in several zones within the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch will either reopen or remain closed, depending on the prevailing ground situation and safety considerations. In Jammu district, schools located in the zones of Arnia, Bishnah, RS Pura, Miran Sahib, Satwari, Marh, Akhnoor, Jourian and Khour will continue to remain shut. On the other hand, educational institutions in Chowki Choura, Bhalwal, Dansal, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu city, and Purmandal zones have been given the green signal to reopen. The Samba district will see the continued closure of schools in Samba, Ramgarh and Ghagwal zones. However, schools in the Purmandal and Vijaypur zones will resume classes from today. In Kathua district, schools in Marheen and Hiranagar zones will remain closed, while those in Barnoti, Lakhanpur, Sallan, Ghagwal and Kathua zones will reopen and function normally. For Rajouri district, educational institutions in the Manjakote, Doongi, Nowshera, Dandesar, Sunderbani, Rajouri and Baljarallan zones will stay shut. Meanwhile, schools in Peeri, Kalakote, Thanna Mandi, Moghla, Kotrenka, Khawas, Lower Hathal and Darhal zones will restart academic activities. In Poonch district, schools in Mankote, Mendhar, Balakote, Harni, Nangali, Mandi, Kanuyian, Sathra and Poonch zones will not reopen, however, Surankote and Buffliaz zones have been cleared for reopening today.
