Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr Virendra Kumar today said that Dr B R Ambedkar and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel both worked for the unity and development of the country. The minister said this while addressing a seminar on the Observance of Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar and the Celebration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, coinciding with the culmination of the Sardar Patel Unity March in New Delhi. Dr Kumar said that both leaders pioneered the interests of the last-line citizens and worked for their empowerment. The minister highlighted that Sardar Patel played a crucial role in uniting 562 princely states to create a united India, while Dr Ambedkar worked tirelessly to ensure equality, justice, and opportunities for marginalised communities to participate in nation-building.
