The Department of Telecommunications and the International Telecommunication Union jointly hosted the AI for Good Impact India Conference 2025 at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) in New Delhi today. The summit was inaugurated by Telecom Secretary Dr. Neeraj Mittal and Deputy Director of Telecommunication Standardization Policy Department, Bilel Jamoussi. The Telecom Secretary highlighted the dual nature of artificial intelligence, stating that AI has immense potential to improve network intelligence and customer service. He further added that people must remain vigilant against misuse of AI, such as deepfakes and financial fraud.
The summit featured sessions on AI governance, cybersecurity, ethics, and global cooperation, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, startups, and academia. Experts discussed ways to ensure responsible AI innovation aligned with United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The AI for Good Summit underscored India’s leadership in promoting trusted, inclusive, and human-centric AI through initiatives like the 1.25 billion dollar IndiaAI Mission and reinforced the country’s role in shaping global AI standards.
