Benchmark domestic equity indices, the Sensex and the Nifty, were trading more than one and a half per cent down during afternoon trade today, post presentation of the Union Budget 2026-27. The Sensex plunged 1,293 points to 80 thousand and 977, while the Nifty dipped 450 points to 24 thousand and 871, when reports last came in.
