The festival of lights, Diwali is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country today, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. On this occasion, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their greetings to the countrymen. In the national capital Delhi, temples, homes, and markets are adorned with colorful lights and diyas, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere.

 

 

Devotees are offering prayers to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, seeking blessings for happiness, prosperity, and well-being.

 

 

To ensure a safe and secure festival for all residents, special security measures have been put in place at key markets, crowded public places and commercial hubs inviting high footfall. Adequate number of Delhi Police personnel have been deployed along with Central Armed Police Force personnel as force multipliers across all police districts of Delhi. 

 

 

Recently, the Supreme Court had permitted the sale and bursting of green firecrackers in Delhi-NCR region between 18th and 21st of this month, limiting the timings between 6 to 7 AM and 8 to 10 PM.
