Digitally driven reforms have significant socio-economic impact, says Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh

Union Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that Narendra Modi government has expanded the scope of governance beyond the realm of bureaucracy through its digital initiatives. He was delivering an address at the Southern Regional Conference of the Indian Institute of Public Administration in Puducherry today.
Dr. Singh noted that the technological interventions under the Digital India initiative have boosted the self-esteem of the average Indian and transformed global perceptions about India. The Minister also highlighted several digitally driven reforms including Direct Benefit Transfer, DigiLocker, UMANG app, BharatNet, JanDhan and Digital Life Certificates, stating that they have significant socio-economic impact. Citing schemes like PM Vishwakarma, he emphasized that the Centre is preserving India’s traditional ethos and legacy while leveraging modern technology.
Outlining the vision for Viksit Bharat by 2047, the Minister stressed the importance of setting global benchmarks, enhancing synergy in both public and private sectors, and exploring untapped resources.
