The sub-divisional administration of Dharmanagar under North Tripura District has completed all necessary preparations to conduct home voting for voters aged above 85 and differently-abled persons ahead of the upcoming Dharmanagar Assembly bye-election.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Returning Officer Debjani Chowdhury informed that the home voting process will commence tomorrow and continue until April 2. To ensure transparency in the electoral process, representatives of political parties will accompany each polling team during the voting exercise.
According to the Returning Officer, a total of eight teams have been formed to carry out the process. These teams will visit households to facilitate voting for 116 elderly voters and 69 differently-abled voters across the constituency.
It may be noted that polling for the Dharmanagar Assembly constituency is scheduled to be held on April 9, while the counting of votes will take place on May 4.
