Dharmanagar Assembly by-election: Nomination withdrawal deadline ends

The election process for the Dharmanagar Assembly by-election has gained momentum, with the deadline for withdrawal of nominations concluded today. Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Returning Officer for the election, Debjani Chowdhury, informed that none of the six candidates withdrew their nominations. The contest will now feature candidates from five political parties, including the ruling BJP, along with one independent candidate. Extensive security arrangements have already been put in place to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election. Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), along with other security personnel, have been deployed in sensitive areas. According to the final electoral roll, the Dharmanagar constituency has a total of 46,143 voters. This includes 22,380 male voters and 23,763 female voters.
