DGCA Reviews IndiGo’s Response on Recent Flight Disruptions

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has received IndiGo’s response to the Show Cause Notice issued in connection with the recent large-scale operational disruptions and flight Cancellations across the airline’s network. In its response, IndiGo said that it is “profusely apologetic” and regrets the inconvenience and hardship caused to customers. The airline has attributed the disruption to the “compounding effect of multiple factors,” which operated in an “unfortunate and unforeseeable confluence”.

DGCA is in the process of examining the response, and will take enforcement action as deemed appropriate will be taken in due course.

Meanwhile, IndiGo today announced that over 827 crore rupees have been refunded, and the rest is under process for cancellations up to the 15th of this month. The airline added that it has delivered over 4 thousand 5 hundred bags to customers and will deliver the remaining within 36 hours. It further mentioned that over 1 thousand 8 hundred flights are being operated today to reconnect its entire network.
