A layer of dense fog blanketed the national capital this morning affecting visibility in the city. The fog accompanied by cold winds made the early hours quite chilly for residents in Delhi. The India Meteorological Department has forecast dense fog in isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 24°C with the minimum temperature at around 10°C. IMD predicted a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 3 to 4°C across Northwest India in the coming five days. The Department predicted Dense fog conditions are also likely this morning over Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar. The air quality in Delhi was in the very poor category this morning. The Air Quality Index was recorded at 341 at 7 AM today.
