Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that this year post-Diwali air quality remains better than in previous years. Briefing the media in New Delhi today, he said that over 200 clean air days were recorded in Delhi this year. He added that Delhi’s AQI today rose only by 6 points compared to yesterday, which reflects the stability and effectiveness of ongoing anti-pollution measures taken by the BJP-led government. Addressing the misconceptions about cloud seeding, the minister clarified that it happens only when there are clouds. He further said that without clouds, cloud seeding is scientifically impossible. The minister said that the Delhi government has removed 27 lakh metric tons of waste, introduced stringent monitoring for all construction sites over 500 square meters, and expanded the electric bus fleet. He also accused the Punjab government of failing to stop the problem of stubble burning in Punjab. Mr Sirsa said that the Aam Aadmi Party created a false narrative of the Delhi Government’s failure.
