Indira Gandhi International Airport Unit of Delhi Police has achieved a significant breakthrough in the year 2025 by taking actions on the persons involved in visa and passport fraud cases. Deputy Police Commissioner, Vichitra Veer, IGI Airport Delhi, said that around 130 individuals, including travel agents and facilitators of illegal immigration, were arrested from different parts of the country last year.
The investigating officers were asked to take up the investigation on the financial aspect to establish the money trail for the payments made for the fraudulent activities. Police official said that in the year 2025, 140 Look Out Circulars were issued against absconding accused persons, to ensure that the offenders attempting to flee abroad are intercepted. Apart from that, during the period, 119 Proclaimed Offenders, including individuals involved in decade‑old cases, have been arrested.
Apart from that, the police of the IGI Airport unit have come heavily on the Touts and the persons involved in the theft from passenger baggages and cargo. More than 400 persons have been booked in Touting cases, and around 60 persons have been arrested in Theft cases. IGI Airport unit of Delhi Police is resolved to take harsh measures against the persons involved in illegal immigration, touting, theft or any other illegal activities at the airport.
