Delhi Police has informed that the hype around the surge in missing girls in the national capital is being pushed through paid promotion. In a social media post, Delhi Police said that after following a few leads, they found out the surge behind this paid promotion. It added that the Delhi Police does not tolerate the creation of panic for monetary gains and will take strict action against such individuals.
Earlier, Joint Commissioner and Public Relations Officer of Delhi Police Sanjay Tyagi also said that there has been no increase in missing persons cases in Delhi compared to previous years. Mr Tyagi informed that in the month of January this year, the reported cases of missing persons decreased in comparison to the same period during previous years. He added that there is no need to panic over the rumours being spread regarding missing persons, especially the disappearance of children in the national capital.
