Delhi police destroyed 1700 kg of seized narcotics in mega event

 
 
The Delhi Police  today destroyed one thousand 700 kilograms of seized narcotics worth around 72 crore rupees during the mega drug destruction event organised by it.  This was the ninth such mega drug destruction event which was led  Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu in presence of Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha and senior police officers. On the occasion, Delhi LG also announced the setting up of Delhi’s first dedicated Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), police station to achieve the goal of Drug-free Delhi by 2027 more effectively.
 
Speaking on the occasion, he  underlined that the  event was not merely about destroying seized narcotic substance, but dismantling an eco-system that threatens youth, weakens families and harms the future of the society as a whole. He also lauded the work of Delhi Police for its relentless campaign against narcotic drugs in the Capital City and exhorted all stakeholders to join hands for making Delhi ‘Drug Free’ by 2027. Delhi Polie in a statement said that such event has served as a powerful statement against the proliferation and abuse of narcotics in the city. The Police said that by safely disposing of confiscated drugs, it aims to raise awareness and send a clear message of zero tolerance towards illicit substances.
