Delhi Police has busted a terror module allegedly linked to the Pakistan-based outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba with its handler operating from Bangladesh. Briefing media today in New Delhi, Additional Commissioner of Police, Pramod Kumar Kushwaha said, eight persons have been arrested in coordinated operations across Kolkata and Tamil Nadu. He said, among them are seven Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian national identified as native of West Bengal.
The Delhi Police stated that anti-national posters found at Kashmiri Gate Metro Station in National Capital earlier this month led to the investigation. A similar pattern was later noticed in Kolkata as well. Police further claimed that the accused had rented a hideout in Kolkata and were in the process of procuring weapons. According to Delhi Police, the module was being directed remotely by a handler based in Bangladesh. Multi-agency investigations are ongoing, and further proceedings are underway.
