The air quality in Delhi-NCR has entered the very poor category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 322 recorded at 7 AM today. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), most areas of the city crossed an AQI of 350. The AQI levels were recorded in Anand Vihar at 430, Bawana at 390, Burari Crossing 344, Pataprganj at 339 and ITO area at 329.
Truck-mounted water sprinklers have been deployed as the skyline of the national capital remains engulfed in smog during the morning and night hours. The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-2) restrictions are currently in place for the National Capital Region.
An Air Quality Index between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, and 301 and 400 very poor. An AQI between 401 and 450 is considered severe.
