Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today honoured Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Tripathi on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day.
Chief Minister said that this day reminds everyone of the countless sacrifices that allow the people of the country to live safe and free lives. She said that it is a matter of pride for every Indian to express gratitude to the brave soldiers, the families of martyrs, and the ex-servicemen who are dedicated to the nation’s security.
The Chief Minister honoured brave Armed Forces personnel who had been awarded gallantry and distinguished service medals. She also honoured ten distinguished civilians who made outstanding contributions to the welfare of the Armed Forces. These individuals demonstrated sensitivity towards military families and set an example of prioritising national interest above all else.
